In the second community committee meeting, Able City and housing finance experts, EPS, explained the basic tools of affordable housing finance so that community members could better understand the terminology and funding challenges that will shape the Alazan Courts design.
We discussed area median incomes, the relationship between rental rates and feasibility of loans, low income housing tax credits and more. There were lots of questions!
We finished the session with an interactive exercise where community members helped define four terms - Affordability, Density, Preservation, and New Construction.
